Don't Assume Someone Else Is Sitting at Your Seat
Associations and coalitions can support your advocacy, but they cannot fully replace your own voice. Policymakers hear from the businesses that show up and make their interests known.

There is nothing wrong with participating in an industry association, there is nothing wrong with joining a coalition, and there is nothing wrong with benefiting from the advocacy work of larger companies.
But those things complement your government affairs strategy, they don’t replace it.
When policymakers sit down to negotiate a solution, they are going to hear from the people who show up. They will hear from the companies that call. They will hear from business leaders that testify. They will hear from the lobbyists who have built relationships and understand the issue.
They will hear from the businesses that make their interests known. If you aren't one of them, you are trusting someone else to decide what happens to you. In business, that's a dangerous strategy.
If you aren't at the table, you are trusting someone else to decide what's on the menu.
Civalta makes it easier for businesses of every size to find the right advocate, understand the policy environment and have a voice when decisions are being made.
Don't wait until policy affects your business. Get to the table before it does.
